Beijing, China – MBRT Founder, President & CEO Roger A. Campos led an American Business Delegation to China visiting Beijing, Shanghai, and Guangzhou participating in the Fourth of July Grand Opening ceremonies of the first American Products Exhibition & Exchange Center (APEEC) in Guangzhou, China. Behind the vision and establishment of APEEC are two MBRT board members-Laney Lee, President APEEC and Jason Wang, Chairman American Asian Trade Center with offices in Baltimore, MD and Guangzhou. Attending the elaborate event were U.S. officials, Chinese City Mayors, Province, and Central Government officials from China and about 800 guests.
“U.S.-China relations are entering a period of dramatic, unparalleled opportunity to work together on international economic issues”, said Roger A. Campos. “U.S. companies are looking at new markets to sell their products and services. China is ranked as the third largest economy in the world and has the steadiest and highest growth rate with huge financial reserves. They are interested in buying high quality U.S. products which can help our small and minority business manufacturing base and contribute to the overall growth of the U.S. economy.”
“I applaud the MBRT leadership for working to develop this partnership with APEEC to create an innovative approach to promote business growth and enhance America’s competitiveness”, said former U.S. Ambassador John E. Upston, Jr. Chairman International Trade & Investment Committee MBRT.
“APEEC provides a unique platform for American businesses, especially small and medium-sized companies with limited staff or resources to engage the China market with very low risk and minimal expenses”, said Laney Lee, President of APPEC and MBRT board member. “We offer free display space for American firms in our showroom at the Guangzhou trade center, and actively promote and sell their products through a network of buyers and distributors in over 100 of the largest cities in China.”
“What we are seeing here today [Fourth of July celebration] may prove to be the Independent avenue for a large number of U.S. small and medium-sized business”, said Ireas Cook, Keynote Speaker and Commercial Consul of the U.S. Consulate General in Guangzhou.
Capping off the Fourth of July celebration was the signing of an agreement in Beijing with China’s International Development Committee for National High Technology Countryside Industry and the American Asian Trade Center and MBRT. The agreement calls for the enhancement of relationships and cooperation between China and U.S. businesses, promoting the sales of U.S. products in China, and providing education, training and internship exchanges to further national and international growth of both countries.
“By providing U.S. manufacturers and service companies access to the China market, we can lead the way for American innovation and technology that will strengthen the U.S. economy and provide Chinese consumers with high quality products and services”, said Jason Wang, Chairman American Asian Trade Center and MBRT board member.
“You, MBRT and APEEC provided the expertise and resources necessary for my company to pursue an international trade opportunity that we would not have otherwise considered”, said Jim DeFrancesco, CEO ACell, Inc. and MBRT member. “I am forever changed in my thinking by visiting the country and meeting its people.”
“This is a giant step in international trade relations between our two great countries”, said Janice Howroyd, MBRT Chairman and CEO Act-1 Group in Torrance, CA. “Our small and minority businesses of scale can lead our country and help move our nation closer to economic recovery.”
